Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate, capable of obtaining magnetic recording medium, excellent in surface property, running property and head touch. SOLUTION: The substrate of a magnetic recording medium is provided with a filler surface, containing particles, and a mat surface, having a film containing the particles and organic compound, while the average particle size of the particles on the filler surface is larger the average particle size of the particles in the film of the mat surface by two times or more and reinforcing films, consisting of a metallic material, selected from a metal, semi-metal and alloy as well as the oxide and composite of them, are formed on both sides of a polyester base plastic film, having the thickness of 2-5.5 μm. |
