PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which can secure the reliability of compressors during operation and, at the same time, can expand the degrees of freedom for layout of the compressors. SOLUTION: An air conditioner is provided with a plurality of compressors which are composed of a preferentially actuated first compressor 12 and a second compressor 13, have such cases that their insides become higher in pressure while the compressors 12 and 13 are operated, and are connected in parallel, a main suction pipe 21 through which a refrigerant is supplied to the compressors 12 and 13, a first suction pipe 22 for the first compressor 12 branched from the pipe 21, a second suction pipe 23 for the second compressor 13 branched from the pipe 21, a first discharge pipe 24 for the first compressor 12, a second discharge pipe 25 for the second compressor 13, an oil separator 14 which separates the refrigerator oil mixed in the refrigerant discharged from the first and second discharge pipes 24 and 25, a first returning pipe 27 for returning the refrigerator oil separated by means of the separator 14 to the first suction pipe 22, and a second returning pipe 28 for returning the refrigerator oil in the case of the first compressor 12 to the second suction pipe 23.
