Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which is easy to install even in a small a space over the level of liquid and which surely operates while being seldom affected by the liquid and can measure the liquid level to high accuracy. SOLUTION: A level measuring device 1 having a float shaft 11 and a float 7 includes a movement conversion means for converting the vertical movement of the float 7 into the rotational movement of the float shaft 11, a float rotation prevention shaft 40 for preventing the rotation of the float, an upper stage 17 which rotates as the float shaft 11 rotates, and a rotary position detection means 19 for detecting the rotary position of the upper stage 17, the movement conversion means having the first projection 8 of the float and a second groove 14 loosely fitted over the first projection 8 and a helically provided in the float shaft. The rotary position detection means 19 has a permanent magnet 20 provided on the upper stage 17 and a magnetoresistive element 21 for detecting the direction of the magnetic field of the permanent magnet 20, and can measure a level to high accuracy. |
