Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce construction costs, the construction period and the time and labor for the insertion and remove of a stopper pin, and to prevent the occurrence of a deficiency such as forgetting of insertion or removable of a pin, which disable the oscillation from being reduced. SOLUTION: A device for reducing the oscillation of a structure, comprises hydraulic cylinders 14 which are arranged on opposite sides of a fixing bracket 13 fixed to a structure 11 supported by a resilient member and adapted to reduce oscillation, and which are alternatively fed with hydraulic oil when the structure 11 oscillates by a large degree, a pipe line 16 communicating the cylinders 14 with one another and adapted to supply hydraulic oil from hydraulic cylinders 14 on the pressing side into hydraulic cylinders on the depressurizing side upon occurrence of oscillation, and lock releasing device disposed in a midway in the pipe line 16, and adapted to shut off the flow of hydraulic oil in the pipe line 16 so as to cause the structure to be stationary upon nonoccurrence of oscillation, and adapted to allow the flow of hydraulic oil to be free in the pipe line 16 so as to actuate the hydraulic cylinders 14 in order to damp the oscillation. |
