Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method capable of obtaining a stable image reduced into the secular change of tone by preventing void around a character caused in a transfer process using an intermediate transfer body and decoloration caused by the deterioration of transfer efficiency or the like. SOLUTION: This method includes at least a process to form a latent image on a latent image carrier, a process to develop the latent image on the latent image carrier by using developer, a process to transfer a toner image formed on the intermediate transfer body suitably by the transfer pressure of linear pressure 10-30 g/cm and a process to transfer the toner image formed on the intermediate transfer body on a transfer material. Here, the developer contains the toner consisting of toner particles containing at least a binding resin and a colorant and particles whose average particle size is 25 nm or 120 nm. Silica or titania subjected to hydrophobic treatment are desirably used as the particles.
