Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ship with bottom grooves by forming bottom grooves on the bottom surface of a ship so that a flow in a boundary layer along the bottom surface of the ship during navigating is reached to a propeller located at the stern of it under the sufficiently developed condition so as to remarkably increase a propelling efficiency. SOLUTION: Bottom grooves extending from near the center part of a hull to a stern are formed in the bottom lower surface 1a so that a flow in a boundary layer along the bottom layer surface 1a during the navigating of a ship can be led to a propeller 2 located at the stern of it. Because the flow in the boundary layer is relatively slow, when the propeller 2 is operated in this slow flow, a propelling efficiency is increased.
