Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the deodorizing effect of a wound curing covering material by forming the covering material of a chitin fiber and activated carbon fiber. SOLUTION: Powder of chitin is ground to about 100 mesh, processed with 1N-HCl, and then heat-treated in a solution having about 3% NaOH to remove calcium and protein in the chitin powder. The obtained powder is repeatedly washed, dried and dissolved in a dimethylacetamide solution containing about 8 wt.% lithium chloride to prepare about 0.2 wt.% solution. Dope is adjusted and filteration is performed, and then after the material is left as it is and subjected to defoaming, and the material is discharged from a nozzle to form a filament. On the other hand, coal pitch is molten, spun and non-fused to obtain the pitch fiber, and activated carbon fiber is adjusted. About 20 g chitin fiber and about 20 g activated carbon fiber are mixed and woven by a roller card machine, and further entangled and fixed by needle punch to obtain a covering material. The coating material generates no malodor, and is capable of completely closing a wound.
