Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal device suitable for use between a tundish and a regenerative preheater of a non-oxidizing heating device which are repeatedly connected to or separated from each other. SOLUTION: An insertion pipe 7B or 7A is projected from a combustion chamber 4B or 4A of a regenerative preheater 2B or 2A connected to a tundish 1, and between the bottom face of the combustion chamber 4B or 4A formed by the lower end face of the insertion pipe 7B or 7A and the top face of a lid 1a of the tundish 1, a ring-shaped baggy heat-resistant tube member 501 is disposed which is made of flexible noncombustible cloth and has content volume larger than the sealed volume defined by the bottom face of the combustion chamber 4B or 4A and the top face of the lid 1a. The heat-resistant tube member 501 is then supplied through heating with N2 for its inflation and is brought into close contact with the bottom face of the combustion chamber 4B or 4A and the top face of the lid 1a to thereby ensure the airtightness between the regenerative preheater 2B or 2A and the tundish 1.
