Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high image quality by correctly discharging a high- resistance film used as an intermediate transfer body. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a belt electrifier 40 which is set on the downstream side from the primary transfer part of an intermediate transfer body 2 and on the upstream side from its secondary transfer part and applies charges to the intermediate transfer body 2, a belt-charge detector 50 which is set on the downstream side from the belt electrifier and on the upstream side from the secondary transfer part and detects the amount of charges electrifying the intermediate transfer body 2, a discharge 30 which is set on the downstream side from the belt-charge detector and on the upstream side from the primary transfer part and removes the charges of the intermediate transfer belt, and a discharge control circuit 28 which controls the amount of the discharge of the discharger based on the amount of charges detected by the belt-charge detector. |
