Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tension tester which can measure a tension load accurately and a displacement amount directly. SOLUTION: A tube-like tension member 4 is so provided as to penetrate the center of a base stage 6 supported with plural pillars 7, and a load nut 8 is acrewed to the peripheral thread part, and a center shaft 3 wherein a shaft nut 5 is screwed to its upper end is loosely housed in a through hole passing the axis center of the tension member 4, while the center shaft 3 comprises, at its lower end, a thread part for connection to a tension target member 1 through a connection member 2, and between the load nut 8 and the base stage 6, a thrust bearing 11, a load transmission ring 12, and a load converter 13 are sequentially assigned, while the tension member 4 is prevented from being rotated with a rotation preventing means 8 provided between the base stage 6 and it, displacing only in its axis line direction.
