Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a feeling of hitting a ball as well as a ball hitting sound by forming an aluminum member out of an aluminum alloy material containing the specific amount of Zn, Mg, Cu, Ti, Cr, Zr, Mn and V, regarding a golf clubhead made of a plurality of aluminum members jointed to each other. SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy containing Zn between 5.0% and 9.0%, Mg between 1.0% and 3.0%, Cu between 0.01% and 0.5%, Ti between 0.005% and 0.3%, Cr between 0.01% and 0.5%, Zr between 0.05% and 0.30%, Mn between 0.05% and 0.7% and V between 0.01% and 0.15%, is used as an aluminum alloy material to manufacture a golf clubhead. In the case of the manufacturing the aluminum alloy golf clubhead. the extruded material of the aluminum alloy having the aforementioned composition is cold forged or hot forged at a temperature equal to or below 480 deg.C, thereby forming aluminum members. Thereafter, the aluminum members so formed are jointed to each other via a hot forging process and, then, subjected to a solution heat treatment process at a temperature between 400 deg.C and 480 deg.C. The jointed members are, then, hardened and subjected to an accelerated aging process.
