Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily discover a pedestrian on the side of a facing lane by inputting a facing vehicle detection signal and dimming or extinguishing an auxiliary irradiating means at the time when the auxiliary irradiating means is driven and put on simultaneously in case of irradiating a low beam. SOLUTION: A control means dims or extinguishes an auxiliary lamp 4 on the left side when a facing car detection signal is input from a facing car sensor 7 to detect existence of a facing car at the time when the auxiliary lamp 4 on the left side to irradiate an upper part of a facing lane of a front road simultaneously in the case when left and right head lamps 2, 3 capable of changing a low beam and a travelling beam over to each other irradiates the low beam. Consequently, it is possible to improve visibility of a pedestrian on the facing lane side at the time of lighting and to easily discover the pedestrian and not to give glare to the facing car.
