Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch the beam at a high speed and with high precision, reduce the electric power, and enhance the durability by furnishing a drive control means and two stoppers positioned under the second focus for locating a light shutoff plate which is rotatable. SOLUTION: Between a condenser lens 4 and a reflecting mirror 2 whose section in the direction of optical axis L is semi-elliptical, a rotary solenoid 5 of bidirectional stable type is parallel with optical axis L supported by a vertical supporting plate 6 being out of the light path. A light shutoff plate 7 secured to a rotary shaft 5a protruding to the light path side of the solenoid 5 is in vertical attitude rotated in a single piece with the shaft 5a in such a way as confronting the down-part of the circular opening in the mirror 2. The shutoff plate 7 is located by the first stopper 8 to a position behind the eighth focus F2, and part of the reflected light is shut off to form a low beam. The plate 7 rotated counterclockwise and inclined is located by the second stopper 9, and all reflected light beams are passed through so that a running beam is formed. The solenoid 5 is controlled by a control system which includes a logical circuit etc. |
