Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a Zfy gene cording for a polypeptide containing a specific amino acid sequence having a Zfy activity and a Zfx gene coding for a polypeptide containing a specific amino acid sequence having a Zfx activity, which are useful as primers, probes, markers, etc. SOLUTION: These genes are a new polynucleotide containing the all or a part of a base sequence coding for a polypeptide having a Zfy activity expressed by formula I or its complementary sequence and a new polynucleotide containing the all or a part of a base sequence coding for a polypeptide having a Zfx activity expressed by formula II or its complementary sequence. The both genes hybridize with a specific position of an X chromosome and a specific position of a Y chromosome, respectively, and are useful as primers, probes, markers, etc. The genes are obtained by collecting genome DNAs of a male of Tokudaia osimensis osimensis, preparing a genome library using the collected genome DNAs and screening the resultant genome library using a part of a Zfy2 gene of a mouse as a probe. |
