Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To terminate a CV cable in a short time by performing shielding of the exposed external semiconducting layer of the cable, and partially pefabricating termination of the cable for placing cable protective metallic parts and a pre-molded insulator to proper positions, and protection for closing the clearance of the metallic parts and the opening of a protective tube in a factory. SOLUTION: The external semiconducting layer 1c of a CV cable 1 is electrically and mechanically shielded. Then cable protective metallic parts 8, a compressing device 9, a pushing pipe 7, and a premolded insulator 4 are placed to their proper positions after termination. A protective tube 35 is put on the terminal section of the cable 1 subjected to a partial prefabricating process. The flange section of the metallic parts 8 is united with that of the tube 35 with bolt sections and the end section of the small-diameter section 35a of the tube 35 is closed. Then the clearance between the end section of the metallic parts 8 and the cable 1 is closed with end section sealing metallic parts 47. Thus terminating processes to be performed in a factory are completed. Therefore, the terminating section of the cable 1 can be assembled in a short time at a job site.
