Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor required for a cleaning operation and thereby improve an operating efficiency by moving an article to be cleaned by a lifting means and a horizontal transfer means in such a state that the article is stored in a cage, then performing a primary and a secondary cleaning operations by the help of a cleaning liquid and the air ejected from a cleaning nozzle during the transfer, and drying the article with an air ejected from a drying nozzle. SOLUTION: An article held by a cage 26 is lowered by an air pressure cylinder 16 from a first upper space A into a first cleaning tank 8, and is soaked into a thinner. In addition, a primary cleaning operation is performed by the air ejected from each of cleaning nozzles 60. Next, the article is lifted up by the air pressure cylinder 16 to the first upper space A. After that, the article is transferred to a second upper space B by an air pressure cylinder 12 and then is lowered into a second cleaning tank 10 by the air pressure cylinder 16 and is soaked into the thinner. A second cleaning operation (rinsing) is performed by the air ejected from each of the cleaning nozzles 60, and the article is lifted up into the second upper space B. Following this step, the article is returned to the first upper space A by the air pressure cylinder 12. Finally, the article is dried with the air ejected from each of drying nozzles 70.
