Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to efficiently remove chlorine content from waste by comminuting the waste, separating it into light-duty content and heavy-duty content according to specific gravity difference, and thermally decomposing the heavy-duty content at a specific temperature to be removed. SOLUTION: Plastic mixture containing chlorine-containing plastic and waste containing an inorganic content are first comminuted to a suitable size. The comminuted waste is classified to light-duty content containing light-duty plastic as a main body and heavy-duty content containing heavy-duty plastic and metals as main bodies according to a specific gravity difference in gas or water. Since the separated heavy-duty content is concentrated at the chlorine-containing plastic such as PVC in the waste, it is supplied to thermally decomposing means, and thermally decomposed at 250 to 400 deg.C. Thus, the chlorine content is separated as hydrochloride, and simultaneously slight thermally decomposed gas is generated. The generated hydrochloride, thermally decomposed gas and thermally decomposed residue of solid content are separated. The obtained residue is gasified or heat-treated. |
