PURPOSE:To provide an elastic roll for calendering capable of producing avoiding effects on plastic deformation, gloss and increasing effects on smoothness, etc., in combination. CONSTITUTION:This elastic roll l for calendering is obtained by forming a rubber layer 3, comprising a polyurethane elastomer and having a Shore A hardness within the range of 90-99, to a thickness thereof within the range of 5-15mm on the outer peripheral surface of a metallic core 2 and cladding the outer peripheral surface of the rubber layer 3 with a rigid resin layer 4, comprising a polyurea resin and having a Shore D hardness within the range of 75-95, through an adhesive to a thickness thereof within the range of 4-12mm. A calender apparatus for treating a paperboard 7 is constituted with the resultant elastic roll together with a heated roll 6.
