Abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a welding wire feed controller which maintains an optimum wire molting state by additionally lowering the generation frequency of spatters in TIG welding. CONSTITUTION: This welding wire feed controller has a pull motor 16 which is arranged on a welding torch side and is subjected to constant speed control, a push motor 20 which is arranged on a wire reel side, a conduit 8 which guides the wire between the pull motor 16 and the push motor 20, an elongator/ contractor 18 which elongates and contracts a guide route for the wire and a detecting means 36 which detects the elongation and contraction state of the elongator/contractor 18. The welding wire feed controller constituted to control the rotation of the push motor 20 so as to attain always the specified length of the elongator/contractor in accordance with the signal from the detecting means 36 is provided with a feed resistance detecting means for detecting the wire feed resistance between the pull motor 16 and base metals by detecting the driving current of the pull motor 16 which is independently subjected to the constant speed control. |
