PURPOSE: To realize the convenience for the user to recognize its own gas consumption charge or the like through the use of a telephone set. CONSTITUTION: A controller CT discriminates whether or not a telephone opposite party is a management center equipment CS and sends data of an indication of a gas meter GM to the management center through a public telephone line L when the destination is the management center CS. When the opposite party is not the management center equipment CS, the controller CT connects the telephone set TE to the telephone line L and usual speech is made by the telephone set TE. On the other hand, when the telephone set TE makes a phone call to the management center equipment CS, data stored in the management center equipment CS and relating to the indication value are received by the telephone set TE through the telephone line L. Furthermore, the received data are displayed on a display section of the telephone set TE. Thus, the user recognizes its own gas consumption amount and a gas utility charge or the like by using the telephone set TE.
