Abstract PURPOSE: To eliminate the adverse effect on a readback signal by making the objective lens fixing part of a lens holder thinner gradually toward the free end thereby increasing the secondary resonance frequency without increasing the weight. CONSTITUTION: A resilient supporting member 13 supports a lens holder 11 for an objective lens 11b resiliently with respect to a fixed part 14. The lens holder 11 is mounting a coil bobbin 12 for winding a focusing coil and a tracking coil. The objective lens fixing part 11c of the lens holder 11 is made thinner gradually toward the free end and made thicker gradually toward the fixing member side. Rigidity can be enhanced at the root of the fixing part 11 without increasing the weight substantially as compared with a conventional fixing part 11 having flat lower part and the secondary resonance frequency can be increased by specifying the thickness 6 of the fixing part 11 on the free end side and the thickness C on the fixed part side thereof.
