Abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a recording method which can conduct high throughput recording operation by simple, inexpensive circuit constitution and an apparatus for the method. CONSTITUTION: Printing data inputted by a data communication part 100 are stored in a line buffer as bit map data capable of driving a recording head. The data in the line buffer are accessed not by CPU 101 but by a skip detection part 104 having DMA transfer hard ware, and blank data in a line buffer are detected in one step of a carriage motor for moving recording head by making bit map data a unit to write the detection results in a CR position buffer. In recording operation, CPU 101 controls the skip transfer of the recording head referring to the CR position buffer. |
