Abstract PURPOSE: To provide a mixture of polymers of higher unsaturated fatty acids useful as a softening agent for tire tread rubber giving a tire having excellent gripping performance in winter season and obtained by polymerizing a higher unsaturated fatty acid (ester) at the unsaturated double bond part using a heteropoly-acid cesium salt as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION: The objective mixture of polymers of higher unsaturated fatty acids gives a tire having excellent gripping performance in winter season when used as a softening agent for tire tread rubber. The mixture is produced by polymerizing one or more kinds of compounds selected from higher unsaturated fatty acids expressed by formula I (R1 is H or a 1-12C alkyl; (m) and (n) are each 0 or an integer of >=1; m+n is 11-13), formula II (R2 is same as R1 ; (h), (j) and (k) are each 0 or an integer of >=1; (j) is 1 or 2; h+k is 6-11) or formula III (R3 is the same as R1 ; (p) and (q) are each 0 or an integer of >=1; p+q is 4-9) and their esters, etc., at the unsaturated double bond part of the compound using a heteropoly-acid cesium salt as a catalyst.
