Abstract | PURPOSE: To enhance the resistance of a conveying roll such as a liftout roll or a Lehr roll to corroding actions, etc., of molten tin and improve the durability thereof in a float production line for sheet glass. CONSTITUTION: This roll for float glass production is obtained by forming a flame sprayed film of a cobalt-based alloy comprising 10-40% Cr, 2-20% Al, 0.1-2% Y, 2-20% Ti and the balance substantially comprising Co as a protecting film on the surface of a metallic substrate of a roll drum part. The film thickness may be about 0.05-0.5mm. |
