PURPOSE: To provide an optical disk device constituted in such a manner that the resonance of an optical disk by the vibration of an optical pickup is suppressed. CONSTITUTION: This optical disk device is equipped with a turn table 12 on which the optical disk 13 is placed, a chuck 14 which presses the optical disk 13 placed on this turn table 12 toward the turn table surface from above, a spindle motor 11 which rotationally drives this turn table, a driving controller which rotationally drives the spindle motor 11 and a mechanical deck section 15 which supports the spindle motor. Recording or reproducing of information signals to and from the signal recording surface of the optical disk is executed by the optical pickup supported in the mechanical deck section movably in the radial direction of the optical disk by a weight 16. The optical disk device is provided with the weight 16, by which the resonance of the optical disk is suppressed.
