Abstract PURPOSE:To conduct wiring operation on one side of a specific area while improving the detection accuracy of a body detector in the area detecting whether or not an intruding body (including a man) is present in the specific area in a non-contact manner. CONSTITUTION:A projector 2 and a photoelectric switch 3 are juxtaposed on one side of an intruding body-detecting area 1 toward the other side. An optical transmission means 4 is disposed on the other side of the intruding-body detecting area 1, and consists of an optical fiber 6, a light-receiving lens 7 mounted on one end of the optical fiber 6 and a projecting lens 8 installed at the other end of the optical fiber 6. The light-receiving lens 7 is faced oppositely to the projector 2 and receives beams from the projector 2, and the projecting lens 8 is faced oppositely to the photoelectric switch 3 and projected to the photoelectric switch 3.
