Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a pile web showing a silky soft touch, extremely improved in pile-falling resistance, not giving a transparent feeling, and having a surface luster little in irregular reflection, and to provide a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION:In the pile web composed of pile yarns containing at least 30wt.% of polyester multifilaments, the polyester multifilaments comprise false twisted polyester multifilaments having a crimp-expressing constant of 3-8%, a torque number of 25-55 turns/2m, and a crimping number of 18-25 crimps/inch, and the characteristic of the method for producing the pile web comprises specifying false-twisting conditions.
