PURPOSE:To provide a foam with restricted elongation which can be processed with a superb dimensional accuracy and without damaging sealing and shock absorbing properties, and free from cutting-off in the process by using a thermofusing layer or a combination of the thermofusing layer and a reinforcing material and restricting elongation of the foam in a longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:A continuous notch is provided in a longitudinal direction on one face of a polyethylene foam 1a with a rectangular cross-section whose side is 5mmX10mm long. The mutually opposite inner surfaces of the notch are thermally fused to form a non-foam layer 1b, on the other hand, the face on which the notch is provided in the foam 2a having a non-foam layer 2b is thermally fused to the face of the foam 1a.
