Abstract PURPOSE:To stably retain the freshness of vegetables and fruits, a spray with flowers, etc., for a long period of time by using the packaging material having the silicone elastomer film containing a hydrosilyl group containing compound and a hydrosilylation catalyst. CONSTITUTION:A hydrosilyl group containing compound and a hydrosilylation catalyst are added to silicone rubber composition and, as required, calcium carbonate, talc, hormite, etc., are further added thereto formation into a film-like state or the composition is rendered into a hard state by the lamination thereof on other base material. In this case, a packaging material is produced by a method wherein, at the time of producing a silicone elastomer film by subjecting alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane and organohydropolysiloxane to hydrosilylation reaction in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst, the SiH group of the alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane is used in an amount of at least 5 times in a molar ratio and organohydrodienepolysiloxane and the hydrosilylation catalyst are allowed to remain in the silicone elastomer film.
