Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of a model estimation for a coiling temp. control by eliminating a phenomenon which on/off operation of a valve are repeated in a short period in rolling equipment. CONSTITUTION:In the coiling temp. control facility for controlling the coiling temp. by executing the cooling with cooling facilities 5, 6 to a hot strip 4 finish- rolled with a finish rolling mill 1, the number of opening the valves is decided by fuzzy theory with a deciding part 14 for number of opening the valves by using an error between the predicted temp. and the target temp. in the case of opening/closing the valve for pouring the cooling water attached to the cooling facilities 5, 6 and time from changing time of the valves in the previous time and the stability of the presumed valves as evaluating indexes.
