PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, capable of controlling weeds which have hitherto been difficult to control and having an expanded weeding spectrum. CONSTITUTION:This herbicidal composition for plowland farming contains (A) a 3-substituted phenylpyrazole derivative expressed by the formula (R is H, a 1-6C alkyl, a 3-6C cycloalkyl, a 1-6C haloalkyl, a 2-6C alkenyl or a 2-6C alkynyl; R is a 1-6C alkyl; X and X are each a halogen; Y is O or S), (B) a compound selected from (B1) a sulfonylurea-based compound, e.g. N-[(4- methoxy-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)aminocarbonyl]-2- methoxycarbonylbenzenesulfonamide, (B2) a phenylurea-based compound, e.g. 3-(4-isopropylphenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea and (B3) a phenoxy-fatty acid-based compound, e.g. 4-chloro-o-tolyloxyacetic acid as active ingredients. The amounts of the ingredients based on 1 pt.wt. ingredient (A) are 0.01-100 pts.wt. ingredient (B1) and 1-5000 pts.wt. ingredient (B2) or (B3).
