Abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricant composition usable at high temps. and excellent in mechanical strength, moldability, and retention of a lubricating oil. CONSTITUTION:Ultrahigh-mol. wt. polyethylene or a mixture thereof with a diallyl phthalate monomer is cross-linked with a cross-linking agent in the pressure of a lubricating oil or a grease containing the oil as the base oil. Thus, a polymer having a three-dimensionally cross-linked network structure is obtained as a cake-form solid having micropores. The oil or grease is mostly retained in the micropores in the network structure and partly present on the surface of the solid. |
