Abstract | PURPOSE:To obtain a new compound useful as a crosslinking agent capable of easily crosslinking a polymer even at a low temperature and free from generation of toxic substance such as formaldehyde in crosslinking. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I (R is an alkylene or phenylene; (a) to (d) are 0 or 1), e.g. ethylene glycol bis(1,3-oxathiolane-2-thion-5-ylmethyl) ether. The compound can be produced e.g. by reacting 1 mol of a glycidol derivative of formula II such as ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether with 2-3mol of carbon disulfide in the presence of a catalyst such as lithium bromide at 0-80 deg.C for 2-4hr. |
