PURPOSE: To provide a multistage/multiprocess decomposer which decomposes a high-level basic instruction into an image technique basic instruction for printing. CONSTITUTION: An decomposer 32 is provided for a printer 26 which can receive a 1st information set written in a printer page description language(PDL) and a 2nd information set written in the PDL. It is desirable for the decomposer 32 to include a device which decomposes the 1st information set into a 1st image relation component element set at a 1st time interval and the 2nd information set into a 2nd image relation component element set at a 2nd time interval and also a device which executes an image relation operation to the selected element of the 1st image relation component element set. This image relation operation is executed for the 1st image relation component element set at the 2nd time interval so as to be performed simultaneously in substance with the decomposed 2nd information set.
