Abstract PURPOSE:To efficiently separate a fluid to be treated over a long period of time by a hollow fiber membrane module while preventing the leak of the fluid. CONSTITUTION:The end parts of a plurality of hollow fiber membranes 1, especially, the support layers 4 thereof are treated with solvent soluble fluoroplastic to form impregnated parts 11. The bundle of the hollow fiber membranes 1 is received in a casing 5 and the end part thereof is bonded and sealed by an adhesive to form sealed and fixed parts 6 to produce a hollow fiber membrane module. The fluoroplastic infiltrated in the support layers 4 of the hollow fiber membranes 1 prevent that a fluid to be treated penetrates in the support layers from the end surfaces thereof to leak. Since fluoroplastic is excellent in heat resistance and solvent resistance, an org. solvent can be continuously separated at high temp. by the hollow fiber membrane module.
