PURPOSE:To satisfactorily position a card in its intrasurface direction and to record or reproduce accurate information accordingly. CONSTITUTION:The optical information recording and reproducing device is equipped with a mounting table for mounting a card-like optical information recording medium formed with a linear information track which is parallel to one side, an optical head and moving means for moving the optical head and the mounting table relatively to be reciprocated in the direction along the information track, and information is recorded and reproduced on the information track by the optical head. The mounting table is provided with a 1st groove part into which one end part parallel to the information track of the recording medium is inserted, a 2nd groove part in which the other end part is inserted and a leaf spring 58 provided in the 2nd groove part for the purpose of pressing one end part of the recording medium against a side surface 60 in the 1st groove part, for pressing the other end part.
