PURPOSE:To provide a wall paper capable of ready and uniform ply separation between paper layers (very excellent in peelability). CONSTITUTION:This is a flame-retardant inorganic wall paper composed of a synthetic resin layer (b) laminated to the right side (1a) of a backing paper (a). The above-mentioned backing paper (a) is prepared by paper-making from a mixture of pulp, aluminum hydroxide, an organic binder and a flame retardant and laminating a right side coating layer 2 and a reverse side coating layer 3 respectively composed of aluminum hydroxide, vinylidene chloride latex and PVA to the right side (1a) and the reverse side (1b) of the obtained flame- retardant inorganic base paper 1 in which the right side (1a) and the reverse side (1b) are made to be the wire side and the felt side respectively. This backing paper has, therefore, a three layer structure composed of the flame-retardant inorganic base paper, the right side coating layer and the reverse side coating layer and the amount of the inorganic material in the above-mentioned right side coating layer 2 is 80wt.%.
