PURPOSE:To improve the adhesion of a polyurethane composition to a metal such as aluminum, stainless steel or galvanized sheet iron and more particularly to improve its adhesion to a metal in low-temperature curing, by using a polyol component previously graft-reacted with a specified methacrylate having a phosphoric acid group. CONSTITUTION:A composition comprising a urethane prepolymer obtained by reacting an excess of a polyisocyanate compound with a polyol component having at least two active hydrogen groups in the molecule. Said polyol component is previously graft-reacted with at least one methacrylate of the formula (wherein R is H, CH3 or CH2Cl) in the presence of a polymerization initiator (e.g., benzoyl peroxide). The reactant ratio is usually about 0.5-20pts.wt. of the methacrylate per 100pts.wt. polyol component.
