Summary:PURPOSE:To lower the competition frequency of a data transfer request by eliminating the prefetch of unnecessary data. CONSTITUTION:In the input/output processor having input/output device connecting constitution information 41 recognized for executing data transfer control between a memory and an input/output device, on a main storage, this processor is provided with a device discrimination table 42 having a discrimination number for discriminating the kind of each device at every input/output device connecting constitution information, a data prefetch control table 14 having information for showing whether the prefetch of data is executed to each command code prescribed in the device corresponding to the discrimination number or not, and a data transfer circuit 15 for performing the prefetch of the data by the information of the data prefetch control table, and by the device discrimination table 42 and the data prefetch control table 14, whether a command to an actuated device is accompanied with a data transfer or not is decided, and the prefetch control of data is executed.
