Abstract PURPOSE:To enable the measurement of a specified microorganism handily and quickly and at a high accuracy by concentrating microorganisms by measuring the microorganisms by an immunological measurement after concentrating and crushing. CONSTITUTION:Any method will do as such of concentrating microorganisms, only if it is high in yields and will not disturb immunological measurement. For example, they are methods by filter concentration and centrifugal separation using a microfilter, preferably, membrane filter. The filter concentration device is made up, for example, of a funnel 1, a filtering section 2 and a branched flask 3. A method of crushing microorganisms is crushing by a homogenizer, crushing by an ultrasonic wave or the like. Moreover, the immunological measurement herein used is a fluorescent immune measurement, radioimmunoassay, chemical luminescence immune measurement, immune agglutination measurement or the like, preferably enzyme immunological measurement method. Thus, concentration and crushing of the microorganisms can lower the lower concentration limit measurable quantitatively thereby achieving higher measuring sensitivity.
