Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the pitting corrosion resistance of a blade material by incorporating specified amounts of C, Ni, Cr, Nb, N, Mn, S, Al, Si and Mo therein. CONSTITUTION:In 12Cr martensitic stainless steel constituted of, by weight, 0.1 to 0.15% C, 1 to 2.5% Ni, 11 to 13% Cr, 0.03 to 0.15% Nb, and 0.02 to 0.08% N with inevitable impurity elements, its compsn. is formed of a one contg. <=0.1% Mn, <=0.003% S, <=0.003% Al, <=0.1% Si, and 0.7 to 1.5% Mo. At the time of reducing the content of Al, Si, Mn and S which are alloy elements forming non-metallic elements in the steel and reducing Al2O3 and MnS, according to the degree of reduction, the generating source of pitting corrosion is reduced to improve its pitting corrosion resistance. Mo improves its resistance to pitting corrosion.
