Abstract PURPOSE:To improve reliability of an element by constituting a positive temperature coefficient thermistor of a plurality of porcelain pieces. CONSTITUTION:A positive characteristic thermistor 1 permits a disc-shaped barium titanate semiconductor porcelain 2, which has a first circular electrode forming plane 2a and a second electrode forming plane 2b which are almost parallel to one another, to be separated into four fan-shaped porcelain pieces 3. The thermistor 1 is provided with a first electrode 4 over the first planes 3a of the porcelain pieces 3 and a second electrode 5 is provided over the second planes 3b of the porcelain pieces 3. The porcelain pieces 3 are bonded to one another by heat resistant silicone lubber adhesive so as to form the disc-shape, then, the first and second electrodes 4 and 5 are formed by plating, etc. The first and second electrodes 4 and 5 are provided with leads 6. Thus, the reliability of the positive temperature coefficient thermistor is improved.
