PURPOSE:To easily execute the extracting operation of an object in respect of an object extraction/identification(ID) control system for extracting/identifying an object from among infrared image data. CONSTITUTION:The subject control system is provided with a visual line changing mechanism for changing the visual line of an image pickup device 1 and an image processing part 3 for extracting an object based upon image data obtained from the device 1 and controlling the mechanism 2. The processing part 3 is provided with a peak point detecting part 5 for detecting a peak point in a processing gate obtained from a gate setting part, a binarizing threshold calculating part 6 for calculating a binarizing threshold for separating an object in a catched gate from a background, a feature calculating part 7 for calculating feature variables such as the area and centroid position of binarized image data in the catched gate, an object identifying part 9 for catching the object aimed at by an operator from plural object candidates, and a binarizing area masking part 8 for making the area calculating the binarizing threshold so as not to repeatedly extract the object.
