Summary:PURPOSE:To provide an electronic filing system provided with an image receiving function capable of confirming the reception of image data at an electronic filing device side. CONSTITUTION:When image data is transmitted to facsimile communication control equipment 101 via a public telephone line 20, a CPU 17 receives the image data via a modem 16, and stores it once in a data storage part 18. The CPU 17 displays the reception of the image data by lighting the LED of a display part 35, while, informs the reception of the image data to an electronic filing device 100 by outputting a prescribed signal. The electronic filing device 100, when receiving the prescribed signal via an interface 11, reads out data in an icon representing the reception of the image data from a data storage part 24, and writes it on the prescribed area of image memory 25. An image display circuit 26 reads out the image data including the data in the icon, and displays it on a display device 6.
