PURPOSE:To display a character as leaving an original character image as it is by changing the line width of an outline character, and forming new sequence of points by omitting either neighboring points when they are obtained. CONSTITUTION:For example, when the sequence A1 of points is selected and the reduction of the line width is instructed, the sequence of points set in a state where the line width is reduced by one as shown in A2 can be obtained, thence, the sequence of points set in a state where the line width is further reduced by one can be obtained. In such a case, since points P307, P308 are neighbored mutually, correction to omit the point 308 is performed. In such a way, the sequence of points in which an unrequired point is omitted can be obtained by repeating such processing, and the outline character with high definition without losing the feature of an original character can be displayed by displaying the outline character based on the sequence of points obtained finally.
