PURPOSE:To display a character and a graphic on an external display device by means of an online on a real time basis or to tentatively store them in an external storage device by displaying the character and the graphic on a board by means of an electric pen and outputting picture information to an external part. CONSTITUTION:This device consists of the display board 10, the electric pen 50, an erasure electric mat 60 and a coordinate detection part 71. In such a case, counter electrodes 70a-70b are independently detected along the upper/lower and left/right edges of a back board 13 and radio waves Ia-Id flowing in respective counter electrodes 70a-70d are detected in the coordinate detection part 71. The coordinate of a point P where the electric pen 50 is in contact with a front board 11 is operated by respective detection values, and the operation value is supplied to the external display device and a memory device. Thus, the character and the graphic, which are to be drawn, can be displayed on the external display device by online on a real time basis or they are tentatively stored in the external storage device. Thus, they can be displayed in the external display device as necessary.
