PURPOSE:To provide a printer device having excellent safety by connecting a movable gear to a fixed gear and a joint gear under a condition that the second unit is installed in a device body, and enabling driving force of a driving means to be transmitted to the second unit side through the fixed gear and so on. CONSTITUTION:A lock release boss contact unit 38b is pushed up by a lock release boss 46, and a hook claw unit 38a is disconnected from a projection part 35 of a movable plate 32, and lock on the movable plate 32 is released. At this time, a joint gear 43 is connected to the second movable gear 33b, and the first and the second movable gears 33a and 33b on the movable plate 32 are pushed up to a position where the first movable gear 33a can be connected to a paper sheet feed gear 31 by means of the joint gear 43, and installation of the second paper feed cassette unit 2 is completed. Furthermore, the first and the second movable gears 33a and 33b are connected to the paper sheet feed gear 31 and the joint gear 43, and driving force is put under a transmittable condition to the second paper feed cassette unit 2 side.
