Summary: | PURPOSE:To enable controlled discharge of fission product gas (FP gas) safely by providing a tray containing fuel pellets in a treatment vessel, heating them up by a heater upto higher temperature than storage temperature and vibrate them mechanically by a vibrator. CONSTITUTION:The invented device is constituted of a treatment vessel 1, a tray 4 that is attached so as to be introduced into the vessel 1 and a vibrator 2 on which the tray 4 is loaded to vibrate the tray. For the first place, a completely sealed type vessel 1 which is provided with a vacuum and exhausting system, is placed on a base table 5, and, after vacuumizing an inside of the vessel by the vacuum system, an inert gas is filled up. After that, the tray 4 containing cut-out fuel pellets 3 is heated up by a heater 6 attached to the device as well as a vibrator 2 on which the tray 4 is loaded, is actuated to vibrate the pellets 3 contained in the tray 4. By these operations, the pellets 3 deform and gap among the pellets increases and therewith a FP gas confined in the pellets is gradually discharged to the outside. |
