Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a polyarylene sulfide resin composition that is reduced in the amount of gas generated during molding and is improved in release properties, adhesion properties, heat decomposability and mechanical properties by incorporating a polyarylene sulfide resin and a specific pentaerythritol tetramontanate. CONSTITUTION:100 parts by weight polyarylene sulfide resin that contains 90mol% or more of structural units of formula I (preferably polyphenylene sulfide), 0.01-6 parts by weight of pentaerythritol tetramontanate of formula II (wherein R represents a group of formula III and (n) represents 27 to 32), and optionally a fibrous reinforcing material, an inorganic filler, another thermoplastic resin or the like are compounded to obtain a polyarylene sulfide resin composition.
