PURPOSE:To obtain the subject material having excellent sealing performance, handleability and processability by pasting an expanded graphite sheet with an adhesive to a stainless steel plate having a coating layer of a specific metal at the bonding part. CONSTITUTION:The objective material is produced by bonding (A) a stainless steel plate having a thickness of preferably 10-300mum and coated with one or more metals selected from Al, Sn, Zn and Fe (preferably an Al-containing metal) at the bonding part and (B) an expanded graphite sheet using (C) an adhesive preferably composed of phenolic resin, epoxy resin, imide resin, etc.
